BASS STRAIT MILES FOR SMILES
THEY DID IT!
A group of Wanda members took part in an epic journey rowing the “Terry Dowers” surf boat across the Bass Strait, raising much-needed funds for Clown Doctors. Congrats to the entire crew, which included Wanda members Andrew Lawson, Joe Isaacs, Beau and Wes Dredge and Phil Vial.
The world’s first trip took eight days to complete, with the group camping on Bass Strait islands throughout the journey before arriving in Little Musselroe Bay in January. The surf boat “Terry Dowers” named in honour of past Wanda Life Member Terry “The Dog” Dowers was then donated to Port Sorell Surf Life Saving Club and heralded to be “the first seaworthy boat they’ve had in years”.
