Thank you to all members who engaged in the member information session, written submissions, informal feedback and direct conversations with members of the Constitution Committee and Board. Every submission and item of feedback has been reviewed and considered.
In total, the Committee has recommended 18 changes to the Constitution and 21 changes to the By-Laws since the Member Information Session.
These changes include:
- strengthening constitutional protections and alignment with Surf Life Saving and legislative requirements
- retaining and clarifying important financial safeguards from the current Constitution
- changes to Board composition, including retention of the Club Captain and Director of Education as Director positions
- strengthened committee structures for lifesaving and education
- clarification and enhancement of a range of governance, operational and transitional provisions.
In addition, the Committee has developed a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document, containing 50 FAQs, to reflect the key themes, questions and suggestions raised by members during consultation, together with responses and explanations.
