2023 WANDA SLSC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Thank you to our members and invited guests who attended Wanda’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday 9 July.

We thank Cr Carmello Pesce – Mayor and Eleni Petinos MP, Member for Parliament for their support and recognition of Wanda’s contribution to surf lifesaving and for presenting awards to long-serving club members. Phil Turnbull was awarded 75 years Long Service – what an amazing achievement and we also celebrated club Patron Ernest “Solly” Stephens OAM 91st birthday. We saw many members receive their 60, 50, 40, 30 and 25 years of service awards.

Another highlight of the morning was elevating Greg Pierce, Grant Sandstrom and James Traves to Life Membership – this is a testament to the amazing work you do and we thank you for your commitment, dedication and passion for our club.

Outgoing Board members Gerard Cafe and Michael Bonnici were thanked for their incredible service in educating and assisting our surf life savers.

Thank you also to Nathan Spinner for your leadership and Presidency, especially during some pretty challenging years.

The 23/24 Board of Directors were welcomed and we congratulate Fiona Sutton on her elevation to Club President.

There’s a lot to look forward to in the 23/24 season. Go Wanda!
