This month we recognise Cooper Sutton as the Gerard Malouf & Partners Member of the Month. Cooper has been stocking the patrol fridge each week to help keep our patrol members well hydrated during the patrol season with icy cool water. Cheers Cooper!

This month we recognise Shannon Dixon as Wanda’s INTEN Member of the Month. Rarely captured in front of the lens, we see Shannon and her wingman Chris lead a team of dedicated photographers capturing all the Wanda thrills, spills and smiles at carnivals, training and events. Shannon shares our accolades with the media and reports our successes on our social media channels. Pictured above (middle), Shannon coordinated check-in for hundreds of entrants to our Wanda carnival and has also organised accommodation for our many members and their families attending Aussies this year. Cheers Shannon.

Sam Park did an incredible job as workforce coordinator for the Tradies Wanda One Club Carnival this year. Sam created a smooth running workspace, staying back to set up the night before, back before sunrise to get the carnival started and last to leave after pack down done and dusted. Thanks Sam, you’re amazing.

During the last couple of months, there’s been a lot of potential callouts and Steve is always ready and available to lend a helping hand. And thanks to Steve, we always have a full tank of fuel in the IRBs. Steve’s a valuable team member especially on patrol where his knowledge and leadership skills are highly regarded. Well done Steve!

Matt has been a Wanda member since 2014 when he joined with a group of mates from a local rugby team and has been a great role model for his peers and team member of the boat crew.
Q+A WITH MATT
Have you participated in other sections of the club prior to Boats?
The intent was always focused on rowing, at the time the club didn’t have any active competition crews, we are now often fielding more than 6 crews spread across all the divisions.
What do you love about Wanda?
The culture, people, and the location. Wanda members alway strive to be inclusive for anyone who wants to have a go and get involved and always support their fellow clubbies.
Why do you row Surf Boats? It started out as offseason fitness for winter sports, but quickly took the priority. It’s a challenging sport to achieve continuous and sustained success, but you definitely need some luck.
