SLS NSW STATE CHAMPS 2023 – OPENS
Wanda is thrilled with the results we achieved across the State Championship event. It was a huge commitment from our members across the 10 days of competition. We had our volunteer team at Queenscliff competing, officiating and filling safety roles for the event. This is also at a time when our own beach is busy and requires our volunteer patrolling members to be serving the community between the yellow and red flags.
Our Senior Team won 50 medals and finished 2nd in the club point score and we have 12 new state champions and 50 medalists in total, something to be very proud of. Our Juniors’ performance was outstanding with 33 medals finishing 3rd in their overall point score. The highlight for the club is that we achieved finals and placings in all surf sport sections – Inclusive, R&R, March Past, Lifesaving, Water, Beach and Boats.
We now turn our attention to finishing our patrolling season and sending a strong team to the Australian Championships in Perth at the end of this month.
