NSW FLOODS
Wanda SLSC Volunteers Michael Bonnici, John Wilde, Stephen Trembath, Ryan Bevitt, Adam Buckley and Mark Lake were recently deployed alongside other Emergency Services to assist in a two day swift water evacuation and rescue response in parts of Western Sydney such as Windsor, Richmond and Sackville.
Our crews assisted with rescues and evacuations in extremely dangerous conditions which included flood roads, farms, caravans parks, suburbs and navigating past dangerous debris and objects. We are extremely thankful for our Volunteers and we express our thanks to our fellow SLS Clubs and Emergency Service’s for working well together and ensuring no loves were lost. We also thank those volunteers who couldn’t attend, yet put their hand up to assist, those who helped prepare and pack down equipment as well as the various community groups for providing us food and supplies throughout our deployment.
We are proud to be able to assist and continue to Patrol beyond the red and yellow flags.
