About Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club

Wanda SLSC is a family oriented club positioned towards the northern end of the Cronulla Beaches. The primary focus of the club is to deliver surf lifesaving services to ensure the safety of the swimming and surfing public.

History

Wanda was established in 1946 after the Second World War by a group of returned servicemen and the colours of Army Red, Air Force Blue and Navy Blue were adopted as the club colours. Since this time Wanda has grown to its current membership of over 900 male and female members ranging from the 5 year old Nippers to the original Founding Members.

2010 Ocean Paddle - Byron Bay 17th July

Congratulations to our Ski Paddlers who competed recently in the Byron Bay Ocean Paddle with fantastic results.

National Pool Rescue Championships – Melbourne 2010

Wanda SLSC fielded a small team to attend the National Pool Rescue Championships held in Melbourne last weekend. 11 Competitors plus support crew braved the icy conditions in the outdoor pool to compete at the championships. Under the guidance of coach Blake McCrindle this team achieved excellence results placing 4^th overall.Congratulations in particular go to our Medal winners plus we had many results also place in the top ten.
