What is Nippers?
Nippers at Cronulla’s family oriented club
Wanda - are a great way for kids to meet friends, have fun, and learn how to stay safe at the beach.
In groups of kids their own age, & led by their qualified, volunteer Age Manager, they will learn about:
• Surf safety & awareness, including how to identify rips.
• Surf sports skills such as how to catch a wave when swimming
• Personal development and leadership skills, including teamwork & improving self confidence.
A typical Sunday starts at 9.15am, and will see the different age groups rotate through a variety of activities and beach safety lessons finishing around 11am. These activities may include:
• Surf wades
• Ocean swims & board paddling (guided by our qualified water safety patrol team)
• Beach sprints, relays & flags
• Games and activities
Note: U6 & U7 age groups do not participate in water activities. U8 age groups complete the wade - but not the ocean swim or board activities.
There are also plenty of activities for the mums & dads who want to become members. These include courses such as First Aid & Bronze Medallion, becoming part of our valued volunteer team, as well as meeting new friends & families through the many social activities across the season.
Nippers are a truly iconic Australian activity the whole family can get involved in, and what better location than on the open & uncluttered Wanda beach, just north of Cronulla.
