 Founders Room Rejuvination

Wanda's Founders Room is under going a minor rejuvenation (cheaper than a renovation). The surf club has contracted a builder and a crack team of demolition experts both old and new (see below).

Gyprock has lined the walls and roof, new down lights, speakers and the ladies entrance moved to a more discreet position. The final touches are expected to put together in the coming weeks.

Curley, Precious, Ron Smith, Dave Gittus, Paul & John Georgaris, Anita, Lachlan & Chris Pryke, Ben & Joel Bolweski, Peter Cullen, Johnno Hayes, Hayden Allum, Jim Sheritt, Spider, Ben Harris, Mitchell Brown, Stuart Smith (apologies for anyone missed)

 Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club

Wanda was established in 1946 after the Second World War by a group of men who banded together, as they did in warfare, to do another job. The colours of Army red, Air Force blue, and Navy blue were adopted as the club colours.

Since this time, the club has grown in size to its current membership of over 900 male and female members, ranging in age from five year old Nippers to the original Founding Members.

The primary objective of the club is to patrol the beach in an effort to ensure the safety of the surfing public. Wanda is actively involved in the competition arena, with excellent performances at State and National Competitions. A number of social activities are organised throughout the year to bring together members from all sections of the club.
